Timbrell.com from the past

I logged back into Blogger the other day and I've been reading some of the old posts from various blogs that I used to write, it's interesting stuff.

I was never Wordsworth, but I had developed a style of writing, some of it was quite good, one might say some of it was humorous, much of it was quite silly.

Personally blogging is good because it helps me to think things through and just the process of writing my thoughts is a useful way of confirming ideas and working things out in my own mind.

It's also an outlet for my weird imagination.  Here's one blog post from an old 'timbrell.com' post:

The Doomed Friendship.

Cat meets dog
they had a laugh
out on the pavement
or indeed, the side walk
they partook in lively dialogue
regarding the price of fish
and the scarce availability of decent marrowbone
enjoying their companionship, until..
the local species police came along
informing the pair their friendship was improper
dog hates cat
cat hates dog
have you not seen such a cartoon?
now, move along and chase each other!
For pities sake!
stop playing with peoples expectations!
quadrupeds like you two make me sick!

The End.

A new day was born

Deep in the ancient depths of a world that time forgot, a small wheel turned, just by one degree. This small movement gave birth to a series of chain events that when future generations looked back on this moment would seem like a pivotal moment in all of history.

Birds began to sing and meerkats stood on hind legs to see what this new day would herald. Excited children and wise old men looked to the skies in wonderment, and scribes of ancient historical texts began to pen this new day as they saw it unfold.

All of creation joined together in a beautiful song to welcome this new dawn, this new day, a day which would be remembered throughout all of time.

This day, this glorious day, when I started to blog, once again.

Simples!
